At White Elk Coffee, you buy freshly roasted coffee beans of the highest quality, directly from our roastery in Tyresö, without intermediaries to guarantee the best price. We only roast specialty-grade coffee, and all our beans have scored at least 82 points on the 100-point scale developed by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). These scores reflect the quality and flavor profile of the beans, and we are proud to offer a product that stands out in the market.
Freshly roasted coffee beans are a must for maximum flavor and aroma. After roasting, the beans have rested for a maximum of two weeks before being sent out to you as a customer. The faster you consume the coffee after roasting, the greater the taste experience you get. Freshly roasted coffee beans contain over 1000 flavors and aromas, which is more than found in wine(!), and these start to break down as soon as the beans are roasted.
All our coffee beans are not only of the highest possible quality but also sustainably produced. We pay above standard prices to ensure that the small farms we buy from can continue to produce high-quality coffee year after year. This sustainable and fair approach benefits both the coffee producers and you as a consumer, as the beans get the care and love they need to develop their full flavor potential.
We have all different degrees of roasting. From light roasted Ethiopian coffee to dark roasted robusta from India. Our roasting philosophy is to optimize the flavors through a well-balanced development time in our Loring roasting machine. This also sets us apart from most other coffee roasters!
Freshly roasted coffee beans from White Elk are really perfect for those who brew espresso on a manual or fully automatic espresso machine. The properties of espresso beans and roasting also provide excellent results for mocha brewing or for those who want a stronger pressure in their filter brew.
Using freshly roasted coffee beans for espresso is paramount to achieve the best taste experience. Coffee beans are a perishable commodity, and the longer it takes from the time of roasting, the more they lose in taste and aroma. When brewing espresso, the time from roasting to brewing is particularly crucial. Old coffee allows water to pass through more quickly, leading to less flavor and aroma being extracted, and the result is a “sour” coffee. That’s why we always advise our customers to buy the freshest espresso beans possible and use them within a short time frame.
Storage of coffee beans is also important to maintain their quality. If you have too much beans at home and are facing a long journey, you can freeze them in portion packs, but be careful to avoid moving the beans back and forth between the fridge or freezer and the brewer to preserve their freshness.
