The coffee from Kenya always stands out on a tasting table of many origins. The complexity of the cup, the clarity and intensity of the flavors can be traced to astonishing terroirs, always at high altitudes. Its fine qualities make Kenyan coffee one of the most expensive origins today, which is one of the reasons why it is very rare on coffee shelves. We always long to roast this exclusive origin!
This particular green coffee, from the small farmers at the Kiptere cooperative in central Kenya, we have chosen to roast more dark roasted than we usually do with Kenyan coffee. We find that the dark chocolate becomes even deeper than usual, that the berry aromas from black currants are toned down, but are still there throughout the experience. The coffee is very balanced and we can sense a slight nuttiness, which we may not always feel in the coffee from Kenya. We also like to drink it as pure espresso.
