Origin: Nariño, Colombia
Producer: Pablo Andres Guerrero at El Obraje farm
Cultivation altitude: 2200 m
Varieties: Maracaturra (washed)
Harvested: 2022
Pablo Andres Guerrero, since a legendary Geisha trial, has been on our radar for years. Only last year we roasted his coffee for the first time and now he is back with a brand new variety, namely a washed Maracaturra (cross between Maragogype and Caturra).
Maracaturran – like all of Pablo’s coffee – is grown in the shade of other rainforest trees at 2200 meters above sea level in the Nariño region of south-western Colombia, on the border with Ecuador.
What a caramelly cup with lots of milk chocolate in taste and aroma. A touch of fruit, in the form of apple, sweet grapes and melon. The coffee is richly smooth, and a syrupy sweetness is present throughout the experience. To drink a washed coffee of this quality is truly to taste the Colombian terroir, soil, climate and everything else that comes together in one of the world’s most classic coffee origins.
Our promise to you as a self-roaster is to always give you the best conditions: A hand-picked fresh green coffee.
This green coffee arrived at the roastery on January 21, 2023 and is from the 2022 harvest, which is also reflected in the pricing of this green coffee. We dare say that right now it’s a bargain!
