85% of all coffee in Papua New Guinea is grown in smallholder gardens. We love it that way and often buy coffee that has been grown this way. But in this case, we have the chance to really go deep and still taste a micro lot from PNG, as this coffee comes from one of the few plantations on the island!
Sigri Estate is one of a small number of larger producers and here we delve into how their Typica of the classification A, processed with the natural, dry, process behaves in our cups. And how it does! Both as a filter brew and espresso! We love this juicy coffee. Honeyed and smooth sweetness, red ripe apple and ripe mango in both taste and aroma. Among the notes behind, we have the vanilla that spikes the sweetness further. The cocoa is present from the first sip, as are the cherries.
This micro lot is an incredibly pleasant experience, from start to finish and something we enjoy in large cups. This green coffee arrived at the roastery on May 29 and is from the 2023/2024 harvest.
