The Mierisch family has been growing coffee in Nicaragua for over 100 years. They spend their days at high altitudes, mainly in the two regions of Matagalpa and Jinotega. The El Limoncillo farm, where this coffee comes from, can be visited if you are passing through Manuagua. It is open to ecotourism and is only a couple of hours from the capital by car.
El Limoncillo, like the rest of Nicaragua’s specialty coffee scene, is bubbling with curiosity and experimentation. Here they give us an extremely well-processed raw coffee. We’re happy to roast this ourselves a few shades darker than usual. For all brewing methods. Then it offers rum raisin, cardamom and hazelnut. Sweet passion fruit can be sensed in the background in a very balanced cup.
This green coffee arrived at the roastery on June 19th 2024 and is from the 2023/2024 harvest.
