Andres Acosta is a faithful companion at the roastery and we have been buying and roasting his green coffee for many years. Often we choose the raw coffee processed with the dry method or honey, but here we have an incredibly vibrant washed coffee. We feel plenty of cinnamon and butterscotch in both scent and aroma.
Soft baking spices, such as cloves, recur throughout the experience and if you choose to roast this raw coffee a few shades darker, you can – without hesitation – add a few drops of milk. Then the espresso or filter coffee is cracked a little extra and sweet-ripe orange peeks out. As a sixth-generation coffee farmer, Andres personifies the coffee country of El Salvador. When we roast his coffee medium roast, it’s incredibly vibrant and the aftertaste lasts forever. Take the opportunity to roast a washed coffee from Andres and take in the terroir of Ahuachapan.
