Las Nubes is Spanish for “the clouds” and the finca of the same name, one of El Salvador’s best coffee farms, owes its name to its high altitude – over 1500 meters above sea level.
Here, Ernesto Lima tenderly cares for his coffee bushes, which have grown on the farm for almost 100 years. Today, many of the bushes are 50 to 80 years old!
When the Santa Ana volcano last erupted in 2006, everyone held their breath in horror, but it turned out that the ash falling on the trees became a natural fertilizer. An excellent opportunity for organic certification, which Ernesto has stuck to ever since!
The coffee is beautifully balanced, slightly floral at first smell. We sense faint nutty notes, like almond or walnut, a little raspberry, and creamy milk chocolate dominates the flavor. A smooth coffee with a good aftertaste in every way.
