Sumatra, the sixth largest island in the world and part of Indonesia, is characterized by its nutrient-rich volcanic soils and the way small-scale farmers process the coffee after harvest. The soil gives the coffee earthy and herbal elements in the taste. The process, unique to Indonesia, is called giling basah and is a cross between the classic dry and wet methods. It gives us creaminess, adds aromatic notes of cedar and chocolate, as well as toffee if we prepare the coffee with milk. If we drink it neat, jammy strawberry appears.
In addition to drinking this coffee with or without milk, you can brew it with virtually any brewing method – manually as drip coffee, filter brewer, espresso, fully automatic coffee machine and in presso. The result is just as successful every time, thank you!
Always freshly toasted. For this variety, it takes a maximum of 2 weeks from roasting until we ship to you!
